Karnataka CM Decision Live Updates: Despite Congress’ clear mandate in the Karnataka assembly polls, suspense over chief minster continues with Karnataka Congress president D K Shivakumar, one of the two contenders to the post, scheduled to arrive in Delhi later on Tuesday. Just before leaving for Delhi, he told media outside his residence that high command’s decision will be final and also said that he will be going alone to the national capital. Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramiah left for Delhi from his residence in Bengaluru to meet top leadership as the Congress engages in the process of picking the next chief minister after the party’s emphatic win in the state. According to the Election Commission of India, Congress on Saturday won 135 seats pushing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) out of power in the only southern state it ruled and boosting its own prospects for the electoral battles ahead. BJP managed to win 66 seats. Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) bagged 19 seats. Independents have won two seats while Kalyana Rajya Pragathi Paksha and Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha won one seat each.
